LAST UPDATED: APRIL 2026

01

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”) and Danil Koltsov(“we”, “us”, “CARBN.ZONE”) governing your access to and use of the CARBN.ZONE website and service at carbn.zone.

By clicking “Connect with Strava”, creating an account, or otherwise accessing the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must immediately stop using the Service.

02

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

  • Training load analytics: CTL (Chronic Training Load), ATL (Acute Training Load), TSB (Training Stress Balance)
  • Power zone analysis and FTP-based training zone calculation
  • Activity explorer with searchable history and detailed breakdowns
  • Calendar view and activity classification by training type
  • AI-generated training insights and recommendations (on request)
  • Smart training plan generation with Base, Build, Peak, and Taper phases
  • Visual workout builder with interval editor and zone chart
  • Structured ride player for in-ride coaching guidance

The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use. It is provided by an independent developer and is not affiliated with Strava Inc. or any cycling federation.

03

ELIGIBILITY

To use CARBN.ZONE, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age (or the applicable digital age of consent in your country)
  • Have a valid, active Strava account
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

04

ACCOUNT & AUTHENTICATION

CARBN.ZONE uses Strava OAuth 2.0 for authentication. You do not create a separate password with us — your identity is verified through your Strava credentials. This means:

  • Your CARBN.ZONE account is tied to your Strava account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Strava credentials
  • You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access via danil@koltsov.net
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorised use of your credentials

You may only maintain one active account per Strava athlete ID. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions is prohibited.

05

STRAVA INTEGRATION

Use of CARBN.ZONE requires an active Strava account and your authorisation of the CARBN.ZONE OAuth application on Strava. By connecting your Strava account:

  • You authorise CARBN.ZONE to read your activity data and athlete profile via the Strava API
  • You acknowledge that your Strava data remains subject to Strava's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
  • You represent that you are authorised to grant us access to your Strava data
  • You may revoke this access at any time via Strava Settings → My Apps → CARBN.ZONE → Revoke Access

CARBN.ZONE is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Strava Inc. The Strava trademark and logo are the property of Strava Inc.

We use the Strava API in accordance with the Strava API Agreement. If Strava deprecates, rate-limits, or terminates our API access for any reason, the Service may be temporarily or permanently affected. We are not liable for service disruptions caused by changes to Strava's API or policies.

06

Violation of this section may result in immediate termination of your access without notice, and may expose you to civil or criminal liability.

08

HEALTH & TRAINING ADVICE

CARBN.ZONE provides data visualisation and analytics tools. It does not provide medical advice, professional coaching advice, or clinical recommendations.

  • Training metrics (TSS, CTL, ATL, TSB, power zones) are mathematical estimates based on your Strava data. They are approximations and should not be treated as precise measurements.
  • AI-generated training insights are algorithmic suggestions based on patterns in your data. They do not replace the advice of a qualified coach or sports scientist.
  • Cycling involves inherent physical risk. Always consult a doctor or qualified medical professional before starting or changing a training programme.
  • You train at your own risk. We are not responsible for injury, illness, overtraining, or any physical harm resulting from use of or reliance on the Service.
09

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All intellectual property rights in the CARBN.ZONE application, including but not limited to the software, design, brand name, logo, and written content, are owned by Danil Koltsov unless otherwise stated.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. This licence does not include the right to sublicence, copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service.

Your Strava activity data remains your property and Strava's per their terms and policies. We claim no ownership over your personal data or training records.

10

USER-GENERATED CONTENT

CARBN.ZONE may allow you to create content including training plans, custom workouts, and workout templates (“User Content”). You retain all rights to your User Content.

By creating User Content in CARBN.ZONE, you grant us a limited licence to store and display that content to you as part of providing the Service. We do not claim ownership of your User Content and will not share it with other users without your permission.

You are responsible for ensuring that any User Content you create does not infringe the rights of any third party.

11

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
  • The results obtained from the Service will be accurate, complete, or reliable
  • Calculated metrics (TSS, power zones, FTP estimates) will be precise or suitable for your training
  • The Service will meet your individual requirements
  • Any defects or errors in the Service will be corrected

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of implied warranties. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

12

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DANIL KOLTSOV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Physical injury or harm resulting from training based on data from the Service
  • Service interruptions or inability to access the Service
  • Unauthorised access to your data by third parties despite reasonable security measures
  • Changes to or discontinuation of the Strava API affecting the Service

In jurisdictions where liability cannot be excluded, our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed €100 EUR or the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

13

INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Danil Koltsov from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights, including Strava's API Agreement
  • Any content you submit or actions you take through the Service
  • Your negligence or wilful misconduct
14

SERVICE AVAILABILITY

CARBN.ZONE is operated by a single independent developer. We make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee any specific uptime or availability.

We reserve the right to:

  • Perform maintenance at any time, with or without prior notice
  • Temporarily suspend the Service for technical, security, or operational reasons
  • Modify, restrict, or discontinue any feature or the entire Service at any time
  • Impose usage limits to protect service stability

We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime or significant feature changes. However, we are not obligated to do so and are not liable for any losses resulting from unavailability.

15

TERMINATION

By you: You may stop using CARBN.ZONE and revoke Strava access at any time. This effectively terminates your use of the Service.

By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without notice or liability, if:

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

16

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. For users in the European Union, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence apply and cannot be overridden by these Terms.

We prefer to resolve disputes amicably. If you have a dispute with CARBN.ZONE, please contact us at danil@koltsov.net first and we will make a good-faith effort to resolve it within 30 days.

If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of the jurisdiction where Danil Koltsov is domiciled, unless applicable consumer law grants you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.

17

CHANGES TO TERMS

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes:

  • The "Last Updated" date on this page will be revised
  • Users will be notified via a notice on the CARBN.ZONE dashboard
  • For significant changes, we will attempt to notify you by email

Changes take effect on the date posted unless stated otherwise. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
